Celebrate Scarf Day 2025 with Malta Girl Guides!

Mark your calendars! On the 21st of February 2025, the Malta Girl Guides invite its members to celebrate Scarf Day by proudly wearing their Guiding scarf at school or work. This special day is part of the World Thinking Day (WTD) celebrations, a global celebration of international friendship and the values of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS).

What is World Thinking Day?

World Thinking Day, celebrated annually on the 22nd of February, unites 10.8 million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts across 153 countries. It is a moment to reflect on our Movement’s history, symbolism and impact while fostering sisterhood and learning about Guides around the world. It is an opportunity to reflect on the strength of our Global Movement, celebrate the incredible stories of Girl Guides worldwide, and speak up on issues affecting girls and young women today. As we approach the centenary of World Thinking Day in 2026 and the centenary of WAGGGS in 2028, we are embracing a new theme over the next four years. This year, we will focus on the symbolism and values of our Movement and what it has meant to be a Girl Guide throughout history. By understanding our past and applying it to the present, we empower girls to be confident leaders who care about the world and develop the skills needed to make a difference.

What is Scarf Day?

Scarf Day is an initiative that allows our members to proudly wear their Guiding scarves throughout the day, showcasing the values and friendships that Girl Guiding fosters. By wearing the scarf, members can spark conversations, share their experiences and spread awareness of the empowering work done by the Movement.
