#mggquarantinechallenge#beattheboredom

Spanning over 80 days , the mggquarantinechallenge#beattheboredom, launched by Malta Girl Guides and supported by HSBC Malta Foundation, saw the participation of over 2500 participants from over 21 countries participating in 40 challenges. This initiative’s main aim was to see kids and people of all ages, who were at the time mostly staying at home, participating in different challenges to help beat the boredom of staying indoors during such difficult times.

The very first challenge , creating a model of the coronavirus, was posted on Sunday 15th March 2020, at the very beginning of the COVID-19 period and was followed by a variety of other challenges , with each challenge launched every other day. Challenges targeted different areas of the MGG programme amongst which, mind and spirit, creativity, outdoor skills, environment, diversity and culture and heritage. It is interesting to note that for each and every challenge, there was no need to leave the safety of one’s home, as that was the message MGG wished to convey as an Association.

The challenges, together with the commemorative badge earned by the participants will , without a single doubt, serve as a lifetime memory of the time the world united in the battle against this virus.
