New MGG Chief Commissioner and National Board

The Malta Girl Guides Association has elected a new national board led by a newly elected Chief Commissioner, Stephanie Anastasi. Ms Anastasi will follow in the footsteps of her predecessor, Claire Duff. Given the extraordinary circumstances we are currently living in, the MGG took the plunge and for the very first time held these elections for all adult volunteers online.

Ms Anastasi has been a member within Malta Girl Guides from the age of 5, when she joined as a Dolphin Guide. She occupied numerous roles within MGG, with her last one being that of South District Commissioner.

Following the online elections, Ms Anastasi will be joined by Cheryl Bilocca as Training Commissioner and Jeanelle Camilleri as International Commissioner, together with Gaby Meli, who was reconfirmed as Programme Commissioner. At district level, all the districts elected new team of District Commissioners – Analise Scicluna and Chantelle Galea for the Central District, Gwen Gatt and Elizabeth Mizzi for the North District and Rachel Aquilina and Stephanie Caruana for the South District.

Furthermore, the new Chief Commissioner has appointed the following members in non-elected roles – Maureen Amoroso and Carmen Elina Camilleri as Deputy Chief Commissioners and Andrea Grima as Island Secretary.
