Last September, 50 Adult Volunteers from across the Association came together to take part in the Stop the Violence – Empowering Girls to Speak Up! training. This programme is designed to give leaders the knowledge, skills, and confidence to support girls in recognising, understanding and speaking out against all forms of violence.
The training explored a range of important themes, from understanding what constitutes violence in its many forms, to equipping leaders with practical tools to guide discussions and age appropriate hands on activities with girls. By strengthening the capacity of our volunteers, we ensure that girls are not only made aware of their rights but are also empowered to stand up for themselves and others in safe and supportive environments.

The impact of this initiative is significant. Once the trained leaders implement the programme into practice, they will directly reach 449 girls across all sections during this Guiding year. These activities will help girls recognise warning signs, build resilience, confidence and critical awareness about issues that affect their lives. But the impact does not end there, the knowledge and empowerment gained by the girls will continue to ripple outward, influencing their peers, families and communities. As new members join our Association, they too will benefit from the foundations laid by this training, ensuring its positive effects are long-lasting and far-reaching.
This training is part of our ongoing commitment to create a world where every girl feels safe, valued and able to raise her voice. Violence in any form has no place in our society and by working with girls from a young age, we are helping to build a generation that is confident to challenge harmful behaviours and advocate for change.
Through the dedication of our 50 trained volunteers and the enthusiasm of the girls they will reach, the Stop the Violence programme is not only making an immediate difference but also contributing to a broader cultural shift: one that prioritises safety, equality, and empowerment for all girls.
